At Times
Sometimes I wake up, like I’m ninety years old,
Sheets soaking wet, heart cold as a stone,
And I wonder why,
You’re still gone
I look in the mirror, and only lies,
Make me feel better, make me feel right,
Then I turn away,
And hide
I didn’t ask for any of this,
Looking over my shoulder, for something I missed,
I want to hear you say,
It will be alright
Desperate thoughts can tickle the mind,
Whispering words that won’t satisfy,
Makes you wonder,
Who is right
I pick up my cross, as if I’m ready,
It falls to the ground, it’s so damn heavy,
My God, where are you now?
I didn’t ask, for any of this,
Looking over my shoulder, for something I missed,
I want to hear you say,
It will be alright
Sheets soaking wet, heart cold as a stone,
And I wonder why,
You’re still gone
I look in the mirror, and only lies,
Make me feel better, make me feel right,
Then I turn away,
And hide
I didn’t ask for any of this,
Looking over my shoulder, for something I missed,
I want to hear you say,
It will be alright
Desperate thoughts can tickle the mind,
Whispering words that won’t satisfy,
Makes you wonder,
Who is right
I pick up my cross, as if I’m ready,
It falls to the ground, it’s so damn heavy,
My God, where are you now?
I didn’t ask, for any of this,
Looking over my shoulder, for something I missed,
I want to hear you say,
It will be alright
