Aunt Marion

A strong, resilient, Black woman
A triplet, a sister to twins
A sister to brothers who fought in the war
A mother to a son whom she adored

A friend to many college students from all walks of life
From the Kennedys to the Steinbrenners, to a niece such as I

A leader, a woman,
who spoke her mind
A strong Black woman who stood the test of time

A sister, a mother, a daughter, a friend
But most of all to me
An aunt, a woman
On whom
I could always depend
