Autophobia

Autophobia

The calm of the night strays far
From the feeling I get
Thrashing around in the absence of light
I can feel my hair knot
Where it gathers and meets
As I etch crop circles into my skin
Trying to scratch you away
But the feeling you left will not be erased
You had my fondest memories
But also my worst
You were my greatest joy
And my deepest regret
But I felt the change as the wind came
It chased you out
Along with the leaves from the trees
And the petals from the flowers
Every feeling left in the breeze
It forced away my pain
But left something worse in its wake- absence
There are no rainbows without storms
So where did it leave me
When you took all our memories and left
It is black and white and bittersweet
But there is no grey where the edges meet
