Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves

Red, yellow, orange and brown
How beautiful they are
How wonderful they sound
Once a canopy of shadow and shade
For all earths creatures God has made
Now for the earth a carpet has laid
Old naked oak dare you now fret
Nor bend the bough in sad regret
Mother Nature upon you has now beset
For the hour is nearer than you believe
You shall see maiden spring’s reprieve
And give birth to tender green leaves
