AUTUMN’S CALLING

It’s that time again, when the leaves catch fire and the wind turns chill
It’s that time again, that our cheeks turn rosy and our laughter shrills
Once again do the days grow short and the nights grow long
That the little birds are gone and have taken with them their song
But it’s the time when the Earth brilliantly illuminates for a few short months
Then gently falls to white as it resets itself once more
