Autumn's Relief

For a bushel of reasons
Autumn is one of my favorite seasons
Spring being the other
Just in case you wonder

Shadows lengthen
The air crisp in a blue sky
It seems that sounds strengthen
Leaves change color preparing to fly

So tired I am of the Summer’s heat
And yet not prepared for the Winter’s cold
Autumn I do so eagerly greet
With gladness of heart and thanksgiving untold
