Awakening

Skin so cold as I awake, there is no breath for me to take
I glance at my hands, so fragile and dry
Yet I do not hurt, I wonder why
I check my surroundings, so trapped and alone
I look at my legs, all I see is bone
Skin is ripped, like a corpse
I try to speak, but my voice is hoarse
I am missing a part, a part of my heart
I am missing the whole, the whole of my soul
As I walk down the road, the long and lonely road
They walk right through me
An explanation I cannot decode
Then it occurs to me, so oblivious before
I am deceased, deceased forever more
