Awakening

My mind awakens
As my body slumbers
I wait to enter imagination's curiousity
Of all things my naked eyes do not see
A peek into my soul's truth
And sometimes lies
My protection
My shield
As well as my weapon
To maintain sanity
By society's definition
Sparks my rebellious nature
To be free
Of these imaginary restraints
I rise to taste purity
A gentle touch of acceptance
An embrace of love
But my body awakens now
And my mind's eye slumbers
As I stand in the shade
Of morning's clouds
I stand ready
Awaiting to consume morning's rain
It's tears of reality
It's tears of boundaries
Earth's chains of life
