Oh, the beauty encased in blameless spheres,
hidden underneath mascara
and neutral shadows.
Hidden beneath midnight frights
and undiscovered tears.
Hidden behind natural lust
and constant loneliness.
The vision of life trapped in retinas.
Every compliment focused in on the baby blues.
Baby blues inherited from Daddy.
Daddy who got student loans,
Daddy who went to college,
Daddy who got a full paying job
Daddy who paid for my medical bills
so my baby blues could seize the world.
Thank the Lord for my beautiful gift,
given to me
by my Daddy's baby blues.
