Baby Love

Baby love, like a gem gone cold
Like a heart left out in the rain to mold
They spit you out but you came right back
And the storm that stopped you was a heart attack

Baby child, your lips are glass
Your eyes that run with every rule you pass
Night sounds echo through the holes in your chest
And your friends bless you harder for all that you've confessed

Baby girl, know that the ocean speaks French
Know that no bed is softer than a cold park bench
Streams flow through deserts into the sky
Your December is hotter than your coldest July

Baby one, let your tears run dry
Don't you know drowning is no way to die?
Dance through the rain and the shit storm will pass
To cry of a boy in a day in the grass
