Bag of Bones

A pile of bones lay
Contemplating life and all it
Entails
The pile of bones blinked
Tried to clear its throat
Then remembered it didn't have one
Not anymore
There was no energy to breathe
Nor lungs to expand if it did
Nor a stomach to digest food
The pile of bones
Had once been a girl
Beautiful and innocent
Until society crushed her
Under its feet
And left her to wither
It started slowly
She missed one meal
Then four
And more
Now she is just
A pile of bones
Contemplating life
And all it entails
