Ballad of Columbine
The day was April 20, 1999.
All sorts of things were on the mind.
Some students came to school to learn.
Dylan and Eric had anger to burn.
Jefferson County High was in normal routine.
Two armed fools became part of the scene.
They had prepared their attack for several days.
Their victims would die in different ways.
It started right outside of the school.
Danny Rohrbaugh lay in a bloody pool.
He was shot three times by the armed two.
Scared and frightened, no one else knew what to do.
They weaved and bobbed up and down the halls.
Someone needed to make some emergency calls.
Meanwhile, a deputy arrived on the scene.
Dylan and Eric kept killing because they were mean.
They looked for a jock with a white hat.
He would be killed, and that was that.
Next, they looked for believers in God.
A scared few answered their question with a nod.
The cocktail Harris handled wasn't a drink.
He planned to blow up people without a blink.
They decided they were ready to go.
Their suicide was from their last gun's blow.
