Ballad of the Snake

Deep within the sun-baked desert
Where there has never been a snow
The sun falls from an orange sky
And the sand begins to glow.

And from the ever burning sand
A snake of shadows shall rise
And his fiery breath will scorch the sand
And cause the elf-king's demise.

Driven from their ancient home
Sadness always seemed to follow
And the life of the ancient elves
Shall forever perish in sorrow.

Deep within the sun-baked desert
Where there has never been a snow
From the shadows deep of the serpent's sleep
Forever fade the riches
And the warm and happy glow.
