Banana

A bundle of bananas sat
Day by day more and more were taken
One banana started alone for days
Tempted by the hand
It awaited to be taken
And be given a purpose
But the day never seemed to come

Hope

It held hope
But hope was diminished
And as time passes
The banana became bruised

Hope

Still the banana held hope
Hope for something to come of it
As hope was almost home
A new hand came down upon it
Like a ray of sunshine had shone onto it
It basked in the light of hopefulness
But the hand retracted at the sight of the bruises

Alone

It sat in it's own pity
It was malformed and shriveled
It became bruised in its own despair
It's stem was withered and blackened

Alone

It thought nothing worse could happen
It could only go up from here
It might still have a purpose
But without a second thought
The banana was cast aside
Thrown into the trash
With nothing and no one

Without hope
It was

Alone
