Barely Breathing

Lying here under debris,
My heart barely beats.
I recall the earth moving beneath my feet.
Screams of horror and pain invades my memories.
Everything was like horrific fantasies.
Never again do I want to see.
Falling buildings; falling trees;
Falling on my people; on my family.
Destroying my country.
As I wait.
I am barely breathing as I dream of my escape.
