BAUHAUS AND THE CAT

The cat

(However sensitive,
Twitching with desire,
Selfish with love)

Can never be

(Tonguing her toes
Absorbed in her fur)

As self-conscious as a square.

The perpendicular is particularly human:

Boxes, beds, buildings fit by design.

Our doors close tightly.
