Be Longing

What is that feeling of belonging
I notice now and then, not often?
That warmth in the torso
aglow as after a glass of red
or a fine meal topped with a rich dessert-Pavlova?
We focus on inclusion
in politics and management schools
berate its chilly absence
applaud those who consult to embrace

And yet, there's something about solitude
belonging to no one but one's self
favoring the piper over the drummer

Yes, belong to the universe
saunter, don't march
Eschew warm fuzzies
maybe notice something new and meaningful
something old, new aura
