Be still
Kindle the flame
Let it burn brightly
Dancing rabbits and dogs trace my walls
Footsteps pacing down the halls
Pressures changing in the room
Airs blowing under the door
Outside there’s a roar
Winds that howl
Snow that’s cascading to the ground
Cedar and pine fill my nose
Dancing shadows begin to grow
Turning into creatures unknown
Rushed to bed
Fleece sheets pulled over my head
Close my eyes
And take a breath
Try to put my mind to rest
Count to ten
Then open my eyes
Sing my goodnight lullabies
Don’t show any fear
Cause I know my monsters are still there
Let it burn brightly
Dancing rabbits and dogs trace my walls
Footsteps pacing down the halls
Pressures changing in the room
Airs blowing under the door
Outside there’s a roar
Winds that howl
Snow that’s cascading to the ground
Cedar and pine fill my nose
Dancing shadows begin to grow
Turning into creatures unknown
Rushed to bed
Fleece sheets pulled over my head
Close my eyes
And take a breath
Try to put my mind to rest
Count to ten
Then open my eyes
Sing my goodnight lullabies
Don’t show any fear
Cause I know my monsters are still there
