Beach Memories

Time slowly passes
but we know not
we have found our sanctuary
the rough feel
the sharp sounds
of sand crunching crisp
beneath our bare feet
the gentle breeze of wind
tickling our skin like kisses
we smile and laugh
happiness emerges
gulls echo in reply
cackling with the glee
that we feel inside
the cold splash of ocean
brushes against our legs
making us shiver
soft warm sun
seems to beckon us to stay
forever in this whimsical bliss

    This Poems Story

I have been writing poetry since the age of six. I wish to have my poetry seen and enjoyed by people everywhere. I have been married since 2009 and have a son. The inspiration for my poem was when I went to the beach with my mom and what I remember of it. I hope others will be able to imagine and sense that moment while reading my poem and enjoy it as much as I have writing it. Thank you to all those who support me and believe in my poetry.
