A leaf fluttering in a lake
Sun rays through a grey cloud
Slow songs through my staticky speaker
The first time you said my name
A swipe of red on a canvas
Yellow dress on brown skin
Your eyes fresh from a nap
Water down the windows
The flowers you left outside my door
A sunrise outside the windshield
Your hand slick in mine
Our first dance
Bare feet in the grass
Eye contact
I love you, too
A wish within a kiss
Tired words across the phone
My daddy’s blessing
Letters swirled on cream
Ribbons stretched across ivory
Twinkling lights down a walkway
A new last name
I do
