Beautiful Baby Aylan

Oh, beautiful little boy,
may I lift you from the sand?
May I dry away the water,
and I hold you in my hands?

Oh, beautiful little child,
with your jeans and T-shirt red,
I pick you from the ocean,
and hold you limp and dead.

Oh, beautiful little baby,
do you think they ever thought?
That immigration rejection,
would leave you here to rot?
