Beautiful, Black Woman

What is a beautiful black woman?
She is active in the lives of those she loves
She is honorable in the way she carries herself
Her love and passion burns like the sun at its highest point
She is determined to make this world better for herself and others
The standard she has is magnificent
The drive she has is unquenchable
And the beautiful ebony skin that radiates
Shows the inner light of God in her
You are a beautiful, black woman

This Poems Story

My name is Gregory Marcellus O'Daniel-McFarland, and I'm a descendant of many ethnic groups. I'm proud of this bloodline, and I celebrate it with my mother, brother, grandmother, sister, cousins, uncles, and aunts. We are a talented family with gifts in engineering, writing, poetry, music, and academic disciplines. I'm proud that I inherited a gift of art, which entails writing, poetry, painting, and drawing. It is also because of this gift that I was inspired by Efia King, a former schoolmate of mine, whose lifestyle and look inspired me to pen her beauty.
