Beautiful People

many coveted unadulterated beauty
if not for the world to see, but for flight
and a cantankerous feat poetry
can grant without being lost in the night
or existing with sorrow as null ghosts
or a man without a purpose who's dark
yet meaningful waste exempts from the most
watchful eyes for the invisible mark
scarring the center of the soul believes if
they should stay this way
unadulterated beauty will find them and lift
the scarring they had to endure and say:
pretty hurts, pretty hurts; comes the start of
your revival in a form they must love
