Beautiful You

Who called you ugly
Even though it's not true?
That word does not define
The awesome, beautiful you.
Even in your mother's womb
You were a work of art
Being wonderfully made by God
Right from the start.
In your DNA's recipe
Is love, goodness, and respect
Wrapped in a fine package
For that perfect ten effect.
Of course you're born in sin
And, yes, you come with flaws
Yet, your beauty is so profound
It cuts through sin's laws.
People may have an opinion
On how you ought to look
Your beauty is from within
The depth of your heart's nook.
Prettiness is also involved
In everything you do
The next time you're called ugly
Keep being beautiful you.
