Beauty from Ashes
I see life through sober eyes now
I no longer crave the poison that nearly ended my life.
I decided to let go of Satan's hand and live life to the fullest.
Love is my friend.
Positivity is my companion.
The sun rising is a welcome sight now.
The wind blowing on my face is a constant reminder,
I am better than I used to be.
I've been given a second chance.
I interact with those who lift me up.
I stay away from those who tear me down.
Each new day, is another opportunity, to be the best that I can be.
My head is held high, no longer hanging in shame.
I'm not a victim, but a survivor.
The credit for this new found life isn't mine to claim
It is God's
He heard my cry
He plucked me from the miry clay of Hell on Earth
He created beauty from ashes
