Because of You

Because of you I have scars on the inside of my heart
Because of you I jump at every shadow that touches my skin
Because of you I am lost in a maze of depression
Never knowing which way to turn always hitting a dead end
Because of you I always lean a little too far over the edge
Because of you I see the world in black and gray
Because of you I feel like I am being buried alive
Clawing at the dirt that stings my eyes
Because of you I am a prisoner in your ribcage
Because of you I have to rehearse how to breathe
Because of you every single day is uphill ending in a cliff
Which I always seem to tumble down
Because of you I know what fear smells like
Because of you I know when lightning strikes.
Because of you my life has less to do with beauty
And more to do with insanity
Because of you
