Before

Walking the plank
And falling to a new world
Of sea-green fossils
The liquid shell, your vessel
Like being in an egg
And exploring the other world
Around you.
You remember that you are
What you see! -
Seahorses and seaweed,
The slosh above
As you move into the underwater
Rocky cliffs
Where the bass hang out.
The cliffs rise majestically
Out of the water
And into the air
Where you pass
As you remember
The endlessness and the timelessness
Of being born.
