Before I Had Broken Wings

Before I had wings,
Time was always on my side.
Struggling to reach for justice on an unwanted end.
Before I had wings,
Screaming underneath the surface
Wishing an angel can save me
Instead of cutting me loose.
Before I had wings,
My conscience was dissipating from my being.
Editing everything from my life.
Disembarking every feeling that I have.
My conspiracy has been disturbed
Like a song I can't stop humming or loving
Someone you can never have.
Patronized from standing on a floor that I can fall below.
This was me, the girl who thought she didn't have a soul.
The girl who before had wings.
