Before I Sleep

A fountain of blood
rising from your mouth
you're drowning with your insecurities
your mistakes fall right back to
soak your head with haunting thoughts

A never ending stream
preventing your mouth from closing
all these crimson images
the things that you have done
fall on everything you love

Unremovable stains
make you shiver
blood scatters further
reaching parts you didn't know existed
you try to close your eyes
the blood is incessant

A comforting thought
deep breaths
fill your lungs
lay steady, try not to look behind
close your eyes
and wait for it to come again
tomorrow
