Begin

I cry out from the darkness
A firm but gentle hand
A love-filled awesome power
That causes me to stand

At first the fear is mighty
I tremble and fall again
The hand returns to save me
A voice says “Now, Begin”

The sand, it sinks around me
I cower more than bow
Desperate more than curious
“I can’t, I don’t know how!”

A light appears before me
And reveals a path of land
Narrow, barren, treacherous
Amidst the sinking sand

And from the light I hear it
And see a man therein
“Trust my hand, I’ll guide you
I’ll light your way. Begin”
