Beginning of the End

You convinced me you loved me
Made me believe you wouldn't leave
So I bought into you
In the most naive way

It was great for a couple months
Love was the only thing that kept it going
We ignored the underlying problems
The faulty wiring behind the kitchen wall

The spark was inevitable
Fires burned it all down
Our bulletproof love
Was flimsier than paper

As it all crumbled down to the ground
We thought we could pick it back up
It was untouchable
Something that could never be reassembled

It left us broken
A young love we thought would never die
Now empty hearts lie
Not wanting to be opened again
