Behind a Windowpane

a dark curtain pulls across the sky,
as the clouds race overhead,
the trees sway in the turbulent wind,
and crinkled leaves begin to spread,

the dazzling flash of lighting,
the roaring sound of thunder,
an orchestra of falling raindrops,
that sparked my being with wonder,

amid the downpour and leaden skies,
an earthy scent filled the air,
sopped grass beneath my bare feet,
unafraid i swirled without a care,

one would call it insane-
but I danced blissfully in the rain.
