Behind the Scenes

Behind the scenes
You will see
That there is indubitably a big difference
Between you and me.
I am the complexion of a branch from a tree,
You are the hue of the clouds dressed in luxury.
My t-shirt was dingy
And my blue jeans had holes in them.
And my shoes were falling apart.
I am from the projects, that which you are not.
Your from Silicon Valley
And already have you college tuition set aside.
I might not make it to college, but I can abide.
I'm getting g older; Almost eighteen
Graduated high school
And I didn't know I had
All this confidence in me.
I'm going to be a doctor
and that's what I achieved.
Isn't that the girl I seen when I was younger?
The hue of a cloud dressed in luxury?
She's now doing drugs and doesn't have a job...
And she thought I was going to fail in life.
Behind the scenes was what I used to be,
Now look at me!!
