Behind Those Bars

Living behind those bars,
These words say it best,
Every time you reach the top,
It's taken by more stress,
I hate this when we are,
Never together but always apart,
Why is it this way,
Where the heck is your heart,
This is not the way to live,
Growing up without you around,
What do I tell my kids,
So I don't look like a clown,
When are you going to realize,
There's more out there than that,
Open up your eyes and please,
Stay away from that rat,
But I guess until then,
I'll just kneel down everyday,
Till someone finally helps me,
By answering what I pray,
I pray that he finally sees,
What's really behind that door,
This poem is to tell him,
My eyes won't cry no more!!
