Behold, Temptation

Before my eyes,
Beauty,
Magnificence,
Boldly tempting,
Enough to invite selfishness as it may.
For I am man,
Punishing by will, built sturdy for burdening,
But she be my mercy, for her I am brittle.
Before my eyes,
Beauty,
Magnificence,
Boldly tempting,
Enough to bail virtue.
For I am Man,
Inventor of my many inventions, conqueror of all trials,
But she be my mass distraction, For her I am defeated.
Cursed by inevitable desire since an Eden sin,
Her beauty,
Her magnificence,
Is boldly tempting, so tempting.
For I am Man,
Forever inferior to my Eve.
