Being Labeled

I am tired of being called names other than my own,
I am tired of being looked upon in the wrong way.
I am tired of being thrown aside like a piece of garbage,
I am tired of not being treated as normal.
People look at me as though I have a disease,
They look at me with contempt and disgust.
People look at me with pity and sorrow.
They look at me as though I am not worthy enough to be around.
I am tired of being called names other than my own,
I am tired of being looked at in the wrong way.
I am tired of being thrown aside like a piece of garbage,
I am tired not being treated as normal.
People, look at me!
I have a name other than what you call me.
People, look at me!
There is no contempt, there is no disgust.
People, look at me!
I do not want your pity; I do not want your sorrow.
People, look at me!
I am not a piece of garbage-I am a human being.
People, look at me!
I am just as normal as any of you.
People, I am tired of being labeled!
