Beneath the Night

Another temporary escape,
I feel it start to permeate.
The moons white has always shined to blind,
these young lovers from the change of time.
So we lie there humbled beneath the night,
Trembling hands gripping each other tight.
No idea what always means,
But ready to fight for it regardlessly.
And if these moments could remain the same
I would need no other name,
But all the secrets I've kept in life,
Fade forever into this night.
And of our promises that we'd rather die,
Drift with a whisper into the sky.
The silver lining bends until it breaks,
As I count up all my mistakes,
I'd give it all, my soul to take, yet,
Let go, she breathes,
Before it's too late….
