Better Place

I saw you today
Where your gravestone laid
I felt your presence by my side
Holding back tears
I recalled the time
When you were here
You’ve been gone now
For how many years?

Strangers are around us
But I pretend like they’re not there
I talk to you like you can hear me
I’ll touch the ground
As If you can feel me
You’re all gone and maybe I am too
I wonder if you
think much about me,
I think of you all the time
While you’re in your better place
I want to be where you are
In a much, much better place.
