Big City

Floating down through the gray, drifting in a sonorous silence,
Nothing is silent in the fray, in this reoccurring instance
The beating heart of the brave turns to insanity
The charitable giver guilty of vanity
Where citizens turn their faces from those in need
Where the evil lurk to procure their seed
Where darkness has covered the land in gloom
Where the young are lost, misguided and thoughtless
The overwhelming majority marching on in this sonorous silence
