Birds of Barbed Wire

Am I what I am?
There are many borders
Of barbed wire inside
I take many countries within
And make my world

Those men in uniform just follow orders
To bleed and to be bled
They are forbidden to think
Their heads are kept frozen
Inside the secret political boots
Where even owls don’t dare to hoot

I remain, remain thus
Fly through the barbed wires
Walls break, torn, snap
The birds flap wings across merrily
Leaving behind the everest of difference

I paint the wings
With piercing knots of separation
The more the wires get tighter
The knots snap and spread wings to be free
Eyes get filled with blazing spark
That the world is one
