Black and blue

She looks at her face
sees the bruise from the beating,

she says nothing more, his anger still heating.

Scared to run,
no where to hide,
she buries those feelings
she holds deep inside.

Now she's afraid,
unlike ever before.
He had never hit her,
should she care anymore?

She thought that he loved her,
she really had no clue,
that he would leave her heart
this shade of black and blue.
