Black and White

You try to make it up to me
But too many bridges have been burned
It's too hard for you to see
The page has already been turned
Our differences are too great to alphabetize
Our similarities, too sparse to number
But it's too late to apologize
To me, you've become lumber
You try to make me explain
But obviously, you can't see
Our friendship is detained
We are too different to be
But maybe there is hope for our alliance
Maybe we just need time
Your actions turned into defiance
A mountain that I couldn't climb
Tomorrow is a new day
I will find a new buddy
We have gone our separate ways
Those last few days were just cruddy
I see you walking on the street
I see you with your friends
I wish I could take back all those things I said
But our friendship must come to an end
