Black Road

An explosion of dreams burned into ashes
In the midst of a good day
A dead plant in the middle of a radiant room

A tormenter throws a punch and succeeds
A look of grief on the gunman's face
A broken heart left in the concrete

Sadness like a cold breeze
Overwhelming loss
Throat-choking despair
Embarrassment clouds the man with a cardboard sign

The devil creeps in like a serious sickness
A crippled woman tries to survive
A cloud of sorrow above her head
In the middle of nowhere with no food
Unwanted rain
Mom always said I would be a great person
Dad just kept quiet
