Blackbird

Beautiful blackbird
A purpled-plumed head
Encrusted with a topaz eye
Fluttering by
Flying high
On wings folded like paper
Nightmarish shadow
Your soaring companion
Loner that you are
Oracle on a fence post
Glaring
Laughing wickedly
the old crone embodies your soul
For you cannot sing
