Her daddy's worst nightmare
His mamas blessing.
He was the addict without care
She was the Christian all about confessing.
In her he found his sobriety
In him she found her curiosity.
Late nights and laughs it may seem
She was the one to keep him clean.
The battle was all his alone,
But she was his stepping stone.
She was the angel on his shoulder,
He was a battling soldier.
Drugs and alcohol was his life,
Heroin appeared to be his wife.
A soul lost to an ugly drug it's tough,
But perhaps this woman was just enough.
The needle he put down,
Before it put him in the ground.
Tonight he looks at her with a smile,
Knowing her dad will come around in awhile.
He was her daddy's worst nightmare
She was his mamas blessing
