Blind Eye

Goodbye,
la fin,
the end--
that is what this is.
The end of a young kid's life.
His parent's bury their guilt
with him.

Why hadn't they seen?
Why didn't they help?

He'd still be here if they'd stepped in,
if the school had done something.

It is too late now.
He had enough.
He pulled that trigger without
hesitation.

The adults in his life let
it get that bad.
They turned a blind eye
to the bullying.
They let him down.
