Blindsided

This darkness, dark like a moonless night
Evades the judgment of the holy light
Tortured and beaten, it lost its soul
Now darkness eternal, it can't be whole

For fear of the furies bane
This darkness hides from all its shame
It never makes a quick advance
For fear it will have no chance

Like a knight without chivalry
Or a hero without his cavalry
The hellhound in the crypt of insanity
Hide from their internal pain and vanity

This darkness had once stood tall
Before the deceit of the siren's call
From that point forward, it was hellbound
Weak and powerless, it fell to the ground

The darkness eternal shall never heal
Unless it uncovers its darkest veil
