Pondering why I so love all things blue
I could babble about the seas and skies,
touting all the charms of that special hue.
Put simply, it the color of your eyes.
When you're asleep and shut them from my view
is it me you're secretly dreaming of?
What fantasies are harbored of we two,
hidden behind those blue eyes filled with love?
But night's impatience chastens I must wait
till dawn awakens you that I may see
the craving your heart's desire strives to sate
in the mirror of your gaze back at me.
Would it matter if your eyes weren't blue?
I think not, but then would you still be you?
