Blue Light Tango

The darkness that shadows your light
Doesn’t blind me to see right through it
The silhouette of your soul behind the one who hurt you

You sink yourself deep in fear of your own height
You hide and find comfort in your miserable pit
So no one else will uncover your wounds in their own pursuit

Your heart slaughtered by your own fright
Of the lovers you’ve seen quit
I pull you back in to see your truth

I sit among the umbra in observation of your fight
As you search for reasons to never commit
Your terror unraveling as you’re subdued

Those demons that consume your mind with blight
They will never be able to leave your fire unlit
Because my heart from your heart never withdrew
