Born a Girl

You sit,
you stare
in your ivory tower,
judging me
by the hour

For who you think
I'm supposed to be
on the outside,
the little boy
no longer exists
inside.

I'm trapped inside
the wrong body,
your expectations
are too high.

I've tried things
your way.
Now it's my time
to say:

I was born a boy
now born a girl.
